Editing in a DAW?

On Apple devices?
Use M4A (AAC) for better quality per kilobyte and native Apple Music integration. For a ringtone, use MP3 to M4R.
Archiving a library?
Use FLAC for lossless quality at about half the size of WAV, with reliable tags and album art support.
Only need the audio from a video?
