How Batch Conversion Works
On any converter page, select several files in the file picker (or drag them all into the upload area). Each file is converted with the same output settings- Format and bitrate- And appears in a results list with its own download button as it finishes. Files in a batch process in parallel on our servers, so ten short files rarely take much longer than one; see How Long Does Conversion Take? for realistic timings. A batch can even mix source formats: WAVs, M4As, and FLACs uploaded together all come out as MP3s.
Batch Limits by Plan
Guests and free accounts can include up to 10 files per batch. Premium and Premium Plus raise this to 50 files per batch. Two other limits still apply to every file in the batch: the per-file size limit (10 MB guest / 50 MB free / 200 MB Premium / 1 GB Premium Plus) is checked file by file, and each file in a batch counts as one conversion against your daily allowance. A guest converting a 10-file batch has used all 10 of that day's conversions in one go.
Batch Conversion vs Merging
Batching converts many files into many files. If what you actually want is many files combined into one- Chapters of an audiobook, segments of a recorded call, tracks for a continuous mix- That is a different tool: the MP3 merger joins files end to end, and our merging guide walks through ordering and gap handling. A common workflow is both in sequence: batch-convert a folder of WAVs to MP3, then merge the results.
Tips for Smooth Batch Jobs
Download results promptly- Every file in the batch shares the same retention window (24 hours for guests, 7 days for free accounts). If you are on a free plan with more than 20 files to convert, split the work across days, or consider Premium's unlimited conversions for one-off large migrations. And keep the tab open until every file shows as finished; closing mid-batch does not cancel completed files, but you will need your account dashboard to find their links again.
